Interview with Robert Parry on For The Record: The Bushes and the bin Ladens helped each other

This great interview with Robert Parry of the Consortiumnews website by anti-fascist researcher Dave Emory must be listened to. For lots of reasons but especially because we never get to hear the full story in the mainstream media, as well as in the so-called « alternative » media, on anything. It is always one side of the coin only, if ever one side is covered correctly without ideological biases, preconceptions, prejudices, etc. The received rhetorical line concerning 9/11 and its aftermath goes like this: « The evil Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda warriors have attacked America. George W. Bush, as a true Commander-in-Chief, has stood up against these bloodthirsty terrorists and he is making sure that America stays safe and secure. He has struck back at them by going to war in Afghanistan and in Iraq ». That’s the way it goes.

Well…like it is often the case in life, it is not that simple. To begin with, let me remind you of a couple of things. First, in 2001, the Bushes and the bin Ladens were on the board of directors of the Carlyle Group, which Dave Emory has studied and presented in For The Record # 347. The Carlyle Group is one of the most influential investment firms of the world. Only the greatest of all get the chance to sit on that precious panel. And on the day of September 11th 2001, they just happened to hold their annual investment conference. Probably only just a coincidence, one could say. Members could then watch live the events unfolding in Manhattan. Among others, Frank Carlucci and James Baker III were present. Second, let me remind you as well that on September 12th, when nobody else could fly in the U.S., 12 members of the bin Laden family were flown out of the country. Third, both the chief of intelligence for Saudi Arabia and the head of the FBI were replaced in the weeks just prior to 9/11, which is rather curious and frightening, to say the least.

All things considered, the « war on terror » has been good for both the Bushes and the bin Ladens. For George W. Bush, this war has allowed him to be in the spotlight and be admired as the great defender of America, to acquire additional powers for his presidency and finally to shout out all those who were contesting (rightfully) the validity of his election at the detriment of Al Gore. And for the bin Ladens, the war on terror allowed Osama to strengthen the cause of Al Qaeda and recruit new warriors. In 2004, only four days before the presidential election, Osama bin Laden released a video in which he denounced George W. Bush. Intelligence analysts at the CIA were of the opinion that Osama bin Laden was in fact trying to help George W. getting reelected. In effect, such a virulent attack against Bush by Osama before the election was obviously recuperated by the Republican team as an endorsement of John Kerry. That was enough to swing the vote in favor of George W. And why would Osama do such a thing, would you ask? Because Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda didn’t want the U.S. out of Iraq, U.S. troops being too good for the cause of Al Qaeda.

Mr Parry talks about a lot of other different relevant points. One of them is the obvious biased coverage by the press of the performance of Democrat politicians. Robert Parry explains that a game of professional credibility assessment was at play in the media, as Conservative politicians were quite often accusing journalists of being « liberal ». Reporters reacted to these accusations by becoming harder and tougher on Democrats, unfairly most of the times, to establish their credibility, with the unfortunate consequence that Al Gore was treated miserably. Parry gives many examples. This is a great show. In order to listen to the audio archive, you must have Realaudio installed.

Right-wing useful fools: When Tea Partiers become Tea Baggers

There is something I have got to tell you concerning the financial crisis in the U.S. I am tired of hearing that it is Obama’s fault for this, Obama’s fault for that, and so on. Right-wing activists, Tea Partiers and the like, are always quick to blame the Left and what they call the « liberals » and/or Democrats for everything that happens in their country. If you use your intelligence and discernment, you can see obviously that things are not that simple. Obama didn’t create the debt nor the deficit. They were there when he took office, but somehow Tea Partiers seem not to remember that. They talk about Obama as if he would have taken the country with no debt and no deficit at all and brought them to their present levels. When they speak, and I know that at first hand because I have people like that in my proximity, all they have to say involve the Left and the liberals…but the Right has nothing to do with anything. Overall, they have a rather positive opinion of George W. Bush while he contributed greatly to the U.S. debt by creating the war in Irak out of nothing with its huge spending budget, with the only intention of wrecking the U.S. economy. Check this post for more details about that.

I am a liberal democrat. I have never hidden it. I defend the interests of the Center of the political spectrum and believe me, from here, I can see that there are as many fools on the Right side than there are on the Left side. So please, give me a break with your scapegoating of Obama. You are not Tea Partiers but rather Tea Baggers. You take the mantle of patriotism and truth, but in the end, what you do amounts to treason because you are creating the very conditions by which the destruction of the U.S. will come, destruction that supposedly you are trying to avoid. Hypocritically, you are doing exactly what you are pretending trying to have the country avoid. I suggest that you read one of Dave Emory’s latest blog entry, in which he puts some meat around the bone on that subject. I also suggest that you read all the comments that people have posted on it. Think about it. Reality is a complex thing. I also join a newspaper article by Kelly McParland that analyses the situation and gives the same diagnosis.

The National Post stands on guard for you: Geopolitics 1.0

My dear folks, I have discovered a fantastic newspaper. I got to tell you, you must become readers of the National Post. In just one or two issues you can find several excellent articles, while with other offers you would normally have to wait for a whole month before reading anything worth mentioning. It must be one of the most underrated newspapers of the world.

Anyhow, today, in the face of the constantly increasing propaganda, B.S., brainwash and deceptions polluting the corporate media and especially newspapers and television, I think it is relevant that I pinpoint to you a few articles that have appeared in the last days alone in the Post, that you should be aware of. The all deal more or less directly with liberal democracy being attacked, smeared, squeezed and cornered on all fronts. More specifically, you will find the never extinct totalitarian ideologies of the past, fascism, nazism, communism and now Islamism, that are trying to finish off democracy itself, by attacking its legitimacy, the morality of its politicians, its corruption, etc. All tricks in the books are used to try to get the world rid of the moderate/Center of the political spectrum, to pave the way for the installment of a totalitarian world. Whether it is a fascist, communist or Islamist concoction that wins the final battle for power is not the focal point for these anti-democracy crusaders at this time. Totalitarians have joined their forces to exterminate the liberals as they often call us. In effect, you will find many groups where people from the extreme-right mingle with others from the extreme-left and, evidently, Islamists. What makes it more difficult than ever for us to counteract their propaganda is the fact that it is more subtle than it ever was before. In fact, it has become so subtle that most of the liberals, progressives and soft leftists have fallen for it. Only the less naive and certain elements of the right still resist this corruptive and corrosive influence. Enjoy these articles. They present reality, not fiction. They share with you what you have to know about our world. They don’t have a mind-control agenda, none that I know of anyway.

Warning: The NDP of Canada has close ties with Islamists

Read this excellent article by Barbara Key of the National Post. It covers a press conference presented at Omni Hotel in Montreal by four counter-jihadists: Marc Lebuis, webmaster of PointdeBascule and three Canadian Muslims who face death threats for their critical positions on Islam, Tarek Fatah, Salim Mansur et Raheel Raza. The press conference was aimed mainly at exposing the New Democratic Party involvement with, co-option, corruption or corrosion by, make your pick, Islamists. Apparently, according to Tarek Fatah, Islamists flood into the Party since Layton is the leader. These four combattants for democracy did their patriotic duty to defend democracy and secularism but, as it is often the case, the press, namely here Radio-Canada, was all over some Muslim journalist to get her « reactions », as if it was the meat of the matter and not the links that exist between the NDP and Islamists. Beware of wolves, folks! The Left has been corrupted, co-opted by the sirens of the Right and Islamism. Next monday, don’t forget to vote not for the Islamists, not for the Leftists and not for the corrupted Liberals. Vote Conservatives, the only federal party that wants to protect you against Islamists and protect Israel. Think about it because next time there is a holocaust, you too might be gassed with the others.
